 A native of Georgia, Dr. Deen received his BS in Microbiology from the University of Georgia in 1996.  He received his MD degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 2002.  Postgraduate training included a surgical/medicine internship at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts.  He attended Ophthalmology residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.  Upon completion of residency Dr. Deen fellowship trained in Oculoplastics and Orbital surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Deen is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.  His clinical interests include diseases affecting the eyelids, lacrimal system and orbit.  Common disorders Dr. Deen routinely treats are dermatochalasis (excessive skin on the eyelids); malpositioned lids including ptosis, entropion and ectropion; skin cancers affecting the periocular tissue; reconstruction of the lids after Mohs surgery; abnormal tear drainage system, Orbital fractures; Orbital tumors and thyroid eye disease.

Dr. Deen is experienced in cosmetic injectables including Botox, Restylane, and Juvederm. 

Dr. Deen’s hobbies include spending time outdoors, water and snow sports, golf, flying and motorsports (Including serving as the Atlanta Motor Speedway ophthalmologist on race weekend for NASCAR).
